Local Hazardous Waste Management Program 2010 Plan Update

Chapters 1-14 (PDF format):

The Local Hazardous Waste Management Program (Program) is a coalition of local governments. Our mission is to protect and enhance public health and the environment by reducing the threat posed by the production, use, storage and disposal of hazardous materials.

The Program has updated its plan for the first time since 1997. Public comment was solicited on the draft plan from December 16, 2009 to February 16, 2010. Program staff revised the draft based on the public comments that were received. The revised document was approved by the Program's Management Coordination Committee on March 16, 2010, by the King County Board of Health on April 15, 2010, and by the Washington State Department of Ecology on July 8, 2010.

A copy of the final Ecology-approved version of the Plan Update and technical appendices can be downloaded from this site. Appendix G lists the public comments that were received and the Program’s responses to those comments.
