Wellhead protection areas

A number of King County communities obtain drinking water from groundwater sources. Businesses located in groundwater and wellhead protection zones and other environmentally sensitive areas could potentially contaminate groundwater through improper management of hazardous materials and wastes. EQT staff, in partnership with other jurisdictions, educate businesses about proper hazardous materials and waste management in order to prevent groundwater contamination.

The following publications provide information about protecting groundwater sources:

City of Renton’s "Our Water Quality is Up to You."
City of Redmond’s "Wellhead Protection Ordinance."
City of Issaquah’s "Help Keep the City of Issaquah’s Drinking Water Clean."
