This is not a comprehensive or complete list of laws. This is meant to help autobody shops check their practices, and protect their workers and the environment. If you have questions or comments about these rules, or ways to improve this tool CONTACT US.

The Auto Body Rule Tool presents laws for air quality, environmental quality, fire protection, hazardous waste management, sewer discharge, and worker safety that apply to an auto body shop. The following agencies, working together to serve auto body shops in King County, Washington, created this tool to make their laws easier to understand and follow.

These agencies are members of the Interagency Resource for Achieving Cooperation (IRAC), which provided the forum for this collaborative effort. Funding was provided by the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County.
