| Abstract: |
The Quicksilver Project sought to motivate heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians to recycle out-of-service mercury thermostats by providing a $4 incentive for each thermostat recycled. Between October 2004 and April 2005 a total of 1615 mercury thermostats were recycled by technicians from 115 different HVAC companies.
